Working PrincipleThe PSA Nitrogen plant separates nitrogen from compressed air using carbon molecular sieves (CMS) as adsorbents. The process involves two towers filled with CMS that alternately adsorb oxygen and other impurities at high pressure and desorb them at low pressure.
Step-by-step Process:-
Air Compression – Ambient air is compressed and passed through filters to remove dust, oil, and moisture.

Air Drying – The compressed air is dried using air dryers to avoid moisture damage.

Adsorption – The dry air enters a tower with CMS. Oxygen, CO₂, and other gases are adsorbed while nitrogen passes through.

Desorption – The second tower regenerates by releasing the adsorbed gases at low pressure.

Switching – The towers switch functions to provide a continuous nitrogen supply.

PSA Principle.
This Process consists of 2 beds filled with carbon Molecular Sieves (CMS). When Pre-Filtered compressed air is passed thought one CMS bed, Nitrogen comes out as the product gas. The waste gas (oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc) is discharged back into atmosphere. Upon saturated of the CMS bed, the process switches nitrogen regeneration to other bed, while allowing the saturated bed to undergo regeneration by depressurization to atmospheric pressure. This ensures continuous supply of Nitrogen to your System.
